Prior to forming Strong Anderson Maria held senior positions in well-known insolvency and restructuring firms as an insolvency and Compliance specialised.

With over 25 years’ insolvency experience Maria has a deep understanding of solvent and insolvent procedures, regulations and best practice, which combined with her commercial decorum, ensures that the work produced meets the highest of standards.

Maria is a member of R3’s Council, the Vice Chair of R3’s SPG Committee and a member of R3’s Membership Committee. Maria also sits on the IPA’s Regulatory and Conduct Committee. Maria Strong – Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and Partner at Strong Anderson.

Maria Strong is A Licensed Insolvency Practitioner (IP) with over 25 years of experience in the insolvency and restructuring profession. She began her career in 1997 and successfully passed the JIEB exams in 2002. Maria has held senior roles in prominent insolvency firms, specialising in both insolvency and compliance, before founding her own practice, Strong Anderson, in 2021.

Maria is actively engaged in professional governance and advocacy. She serves on R3’s Council, is Vice Chair of the Small Practices Group (SPG) Committee, and sits on the Membership Committee. Additionally, she sits on the Insolvency Practitioners Association’s Regulatory and Conduct Committee.

Her commitment to the profession includes lobbying for fair regulation, promoting public understanding of insolvency work, and mentoring new entrants to the field. Maria is particularly focused on representing small practices and ensuring their voices are heard in sector-wide discussions, especially in light of regulatory reforms and economic pressures.
